While visiting the Taj Mahal I was truly in awe. It certainly lives up to its 7 Wonders of the World title.
I took this trip in September 2024, which was at the tailed of monsoon season. While it did pour…a lot, it felt a bit like a movie. We got photos taken by a photographer there — not necessary but I think it cost around $50USD and I think they were definitely worth it!
The Taj Mahal is opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes 30 minutes sunset. We promptly woke up at 4:30AM and drove to the site. Yes it was early, but it’s the best way to beat the crowds. From there you take a golf cart to security. Security is very strict, no food, tripods, or large bags are allowed.
If you choose to go inside the main mausoleum, which I thought was beautiful to get up close to the monument but not necessary, you need to put on shoe covers.
Entry for children under 15 years old is free!
