Zion National Park - Scout Lookout and Angel's Landing

Our trip to Zion National Park was amazing! We went first week of April. We stayed at Zion Canyon Campground and RV Resort (435) 772-3237 in the cabins and I highly recommend. They have a kitchen, were new, and clean and slept 6. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and helpful! It was in the 40s/50s so layers for hiking were a must. We left early and walked to the entrance of the park. We grabbed the shuttle at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center (Stop 1) which runs every 5-10 minutes in the park (and about 10-15 minutes outside the park). We got off at The Grotto (Stop 6) to hike up to Scout Lookout. It is about a 3.5 mile challenging hike with no scary edges but a lot of switchbacks. There is an amazing view at the top and you can watch the brave head on to Angel’s Landing. For Angel’s Landing you need a permit which is a lottery system as they limit the amount of traffic heading up and back. You can find out more at the link included. Angels Landing adds about 2 miles to your hike. It is amazing but very strenuous. I made it a third of the way and decided not to go the whole way. You are holding onto chains and passing other’s along the way. Total hike took about 3 hours. We went to Zion Brewery right outside the park for a well deserved beverage and some yummy food after!
