NATURE'S PLAYBOOK

The Strand is a beautiful, oceanfront road with different access points to the Oceanside City Beach and the Oceanside Pier. It’s about a mile in length and is popular for walking, running, skateboarding, and cycling. The start and end points are between Wisconsin Avenue (Tower 7) and Breakwater Way. The road does get busy as many cars like to drive down it as they make their way across the infamous Highway 101. Be sure to watch to out for them, especially if you have kiddos. There are also food stands, public restrooms, and a playground around the pier and beach, so plenty to do if you’re there for the day! Parking can be tricky, especially if you’re looking for free parking. There are a couple of paid lots located along The Strand and some metered parking on the road above (Pacific Street). If you go more inland towards the neighboring streets, you may be able to find some street parking, you’ll have to walk a little more to get down to the road.
