If you’re going to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, don’t skip the baby Taj! There are tons of similarities between the two and the art work is absolutely marvelous.
The cost of entry is 310rs ($3.50 USD) and it’s a simple walk around the outside, but you can also explore the inside as well! Through a part of the windows you can also see the real Taj.
The baby taj mahal is called the Bachcha Taj and is named after the Taj Mahal because of the inlaid marble detailing. The tomb was built by Nur Jahan for her father I'timād-ud-Daulah who is the grandfather of Mumtaz Mahal of the Taj Mahal.
Prince Azam Shah built the tomb in memory of his mother, Rabia-ul-Durrani, during the Mughal rule.
The Baby Taj is believed to have started construction between and 1669 C.Ewas, 30 years after the Taj Mahal. The Mini Taj took 6 years to make. Both monuments were built out of love and the son of the architect of the Taj Mahal designed the Mini Taj.
